I want to READ!!!

I want to read, but can't seem to find the time. It seems like everytime I try to pick up a book, someone or something demands my attention. One day I guess. The books aren't going anywhere, except for the library books that are overdue right now:( Shhh, don't tell my husband, 'cause he says that I can never return anything on time, hence why we decided to go with Netflix for movie rentals, since there aren't ever any late fees. I think the library needs to incorporate a policy such as this one for people like me that can't seem to meet the deadline requirements:(

Swim Club Discrimination

Once again, innocent kids have been impacted by ignorance. If you haven't already heard what recently transpired outside of Philadelphia, please take a look at this news article, http://bit.ly/90Zyr.

Please sign this petition http://www.colorofchange.org/swim in condemning the Valley Swim Club's behavior and calling on the Justice Department to investigate whether they violated civil rights laws. And please ask your friends and family to do the same.

People that continue to be blatantly racist need to be held accountable for their actions. Enough is enough.

Today's thoughts

Find a way to get paid for doing what you love. Then every paycheck will be a bonus.

Freemie

For us breastfeeding mamas, there is yet another new invention that seems to be kinda cool. It's the freemie. You can find out more at www.freemie.com. I don't know anything about it personally, but the simple fact that its "hands free" and "concealable" is kinda neat. It also works with other breast pumps. Please give me some feedback if you have one or know of someone that does. This might be a nice little toy for mamas at work that need to be a little more discreet while pumping.

Desiderata

"Desiderata" is a poem about attaining happiness in life.

Go placidly amid the noise and haste, and remember what peace there may be in silence.
As far as possible without surrender be on good terms with all persons.
Speak your truth quietly and clearly;and listen to others, even the dull and the ignorant;they too have their story.
Avoid loud and aggressive persons, they are vexations to the spirit.
If you compare yourself with others, you may become vain and bitter;for always there will be greater and lesser persons than yourself.
Enjoy your achievements as well as your plans.
Keep interested in your own career, however humble;it is a real possession in the changing fortunes of time.
Exercise caution in your business affairs;for the world is full of trickery.
But let this not blind you to what virtue there is;many persons strive for high ideals;and everywhere life is full of heroism.
Be yourself.
Especially, do not feign affection.
Neither be cynical about love;for in the face of all aridity and disenchantment it is as perennial as the grass.
Take kindly the counsel of the years, gracefully surrendering the things of youth.
Nurture strength of spirit to shield you in sudden misfortune.
But do not distress yourself with dark imaginings.
Many fears are born of fatigue and loneliness.
Beyond a wholesome discipline,be gentle with yourself.
You are a child of the universe,no less than the trees and the stars;you have a right to be here.
And whether or not it is clear to you,no doubt the universe is unfolding as it should.
Therefore be at peace with God,whatever you conceive Him to be,and whatever your labors and aspirations,in the noisy confusion of life keep peace with your soul.
With all its sham, drudgery, and broken dreams,it is still a beautiful world.
Be careful.
Strive to be happy.
